Heather Smith Harvey PT, OCS, MTC FDN Certification Heather is a native of Harrogate Tennessee, the majority of her career was in her own private practice. She is a graduate with The University of Tennessee Health Science Center with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003. She focused her clinical studies on manual therapy right after graduation to complete her Manual Therapy Certification from The University of St Augustine in 2007. She moved to Florida and acquired a physical therapy practice in Key West Florida, Body Owners Physical Therapy, where she learned how to scuba dive and loved island living for nearly 10 years. Heather is the founder of Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy in Harrogate. Heather prides herself in being involved with the private practice section of the APTA with several trips to Washington DC to promote physical therapy to legislature. Her proudest achievement is completing the Orthopedic Board Certification from ABPTS, where fewer than 10% of her colleagues are certified. She has been dry needling for over 3 years and recently attained a certification in functional dry needling, for this demonstrates she has over 200 hours of training from experts in functional dry needling with EIM. She recently founded Versatile Physical Therapy a mobile physical therapy company and is providing services in Monroe County Florida. The focus is on rehabilitation, recovery, rejuvenation and sports enhancement. Her focus is as a primary care PT to provide not only treatment for injury, but also to enhance peoples overall health and fitness. Several fun facts: Heather loves to spend time with her husband Jason and her red heeler Mango. She especially loves being in Tennessee with her family and close friends. Her love for the profession of physical therapy continues to be her guide in this new transition and she is beginning additional classes to focus on clinical management of the fitness athletes.
